In welded mesh the weft and warp wires are mechanically welded where they intersect, yielding great strength and keeping the mesh size precise. This type of mesh may be preferable in a lot of cases, as it can combine a relatively large mesh size with relatively thin wire. An important property of welded mesh is its high permeability. In most cases it is hot dip galvanized after fabrication. The apertures in welded mesh can be square or rectangular, the mesh sizes range from 5mm to 50mm, and the wire diameters from 0.50mm to 2.70mm.
